The Common Iora live in forests and well-wooded areas, scrubs, cultivated areas and gardens. 
It avoids deep forests. The first observation is at the Thalangama Lake area.  The first image represents a male. The second is a female.

සැළලිහිනියා/Sri Lanka hill myna(Gracula ptilogenys)

  2024 July @Seethawaka The first observation is at Udawatta sanctuary, Kandy.  This endemic beauty is  typically found in forest and cultivation. The Sri Lanka myna builds a nest in a hole. The normal clutch is two eggs. These 25 cm long birds have green-glossed black plumage, purple-tinged on the head and neck. There are large white wing patches, which are obvious in flight.
