2024 July @Seethawaka The first observation is at Seethawaka. This bird   is a resident breeder in open woodland on the Indian subcontinent. They forage in small groups, feeding on nectar and small insects. They are easily identified by the distinctive white eye-ring and overall yellowish upperparts. 2024 July @Seethawaka The first observation is at Seethawaka. This bird  is found in the forests of southern India and Sri Lanka. The yellow-browed bulbul is mainly yellow on the underside and olive above with a distinct yellow brow. 2024 July @Seethawaka The first observation is at Seethawaka.  This endemic beauty is   a medium-sized barbet at 21 cm. It is a plump bird, with a short neck, large head and short tail. The adult Yellow-fronted Barbet has a mainly green body and wing plumage, with a scaly appearance to the breast. It has a blue face and throat, and a yellow crown and moustachial stripes. සැළලිහිනියා/Sri Lanka hill myna(Gracula ptilogenys)

  2024 July @Seethawaka The first observation is at Udawatta sanctuary, Kandy.  This endemic beauty is  typically found in forest and cultivation. The Sri Lanka myna builds a nest in a hole. The normal clutch is two eggs. These 25 cm long birds have green-glossed black plumage, purple-tinged on the head and neck. There are large white wing patches, which are obvious in flight. බැම-සුදු කොන්ඩයා/White-browed bulbul (Pycnonotus luteolus)

  2024 June @ Seethawaka This species is endemic to southern India and Sri Lanka. Although both species have a yellow vent and can sound similar, White-browed can be distinguished by its brown face and white eyebrows. Usually occurs in pairs and tends to skulk in undergrowth. Rather noisy but uncommonly seen, listen for regular, short bursts of distinctive raucous babbling. Conservation status - Least Concern reference - ebird      reference - Wikipedia
